Subtitling Services & Transcription Services

Our subtitling services prioritise quality, attention to detail and specialised actions to ensure the most accurate localised subtitles for your content. Our rigorous processes present multiple stages of checks and improvements, ensuring that you’ll receive a marvellous subtitling service.

What are Subtitling Services and Transcription Services?

Subtitling and transcription services present you with the opportunity to provide your video content with either the same or different language subtitles to the source language of your video. Subtitling video content isn’t as simple as it may seem – there are strict guidelines and rules that must be followed that range from characters per line to the amount of time they’re shown on screen!

Our transcription services create the text from the video, and then our subtitling service is utilised to create specialised subtitle files that can either be provided to you separately or burned into the original video.

Subtitling services can either match the source language of the video content or branch out into other languages. We use highly experienced subtitle professionals who can provide various language subtitling in localised dialects and languages. Our processes and checks include native or fluent speakers to review the subtitle content to ensure the highest quality and accuracy of our subtitle services.

What is the Difference Between Subtitles and Transcription?

With subtitles and transcription, you can’t have one without the other. Transcription is the process of creating a transcript from the audio of video content – it’s a jotting down of what’s said in the original source language of the video.

Subtitles is where the magic happens. That’s the process of creating subtitles for your video content not only in your targeted language, but it also meets all the requirements and guidance of how subtitles need to be.

What Makes Our Subtitling Services and Transcription Services Different?

We are truly your one-stop shop when it comes to transcriptions and subtitling services. But first, to figure out why our subtitling services are like no other, we need to identify why subtitles are crucial in the first place.
Firstly, subtitles are a fantastic aid for the hard of hearing or deaf, providing an accessible route to consume your content.

Next, engagement on video content with subtitles is greater than those without. For users that watch video content without sound or headphones, they often rely on subtitles and exercise their option to use them if they are available.
So, how do we turn those benefits into a subtitling service that is perfect for you?

We work with subtitle professionals that are not only experts in their field but are native speakers of the language that they are translating into. This ensures that the translation into subtitle format is smooth flowing, accurate, and dials into the nuances of the targeted language for the voiceover.

We’re also incredibly flexible with how you want your subtitle service to be delivered. If you want your subtitles sent in a SRT VTT or STL file format, we’re more than happy to oblige. Alternatively, we can burn them onto the video in-house, saving you time.

How It Works

Renowned for our high-quality deliverability of accurate subtitling services, we have rigorous checks and processes that ensure you receive the utmost standard of our subtitling service possible.

First, you send us the video content that you wish to be subtitled. We consider the duration of the video that you want subtitled to deliver a quote – we have a set per-minute rate that is calculated based on the duration of the content that is to be subtitled.

Sometimes, you’ll already have a subtitle template ready already. If not, that’s no trouble at all. We’ll put a subtitle template together for you in the source language to make sure that we’re good to go. This will be created by a native speaker of the source language, so that the subtitle professionals creating the language subtitles for the target languages can refer to it as a reference for what is said in the video content. This is all to maximise accuracy and quality of our subtitling services.

After, our subtitle professionals translate the content so that it fits into the strict subtitle guidelines. This is then sent through a process of quality control to identify the overall accuracy of the subtitles, and to make any improvements that are deemed necessary. We use specialised subtitle professionals rather than ordinary translators for our subtitling service, as their specialised skills are honed to produce subtitles that meet every one of the strict subtitle guidelines.

If you’ve ever wondered why native subtitles in the source language don’t exactly replicate the audio, it’s because of these guidelines! This is a prime example of where the subtitle professional has made an expert decision to adhere to the guidelines, whilst still maintaining its understanding.

What are the Subtitle Guidelines?

There are multiple aspects that need to be considered when creating subtitles that all need to work together in perfect harmony to look fantastic. These include: Character count per line, Character count per subtitle, Minimum time on screen, Maximum time on screen, Reading speed of the subtitle, and Formatting and punctuation of the subtitle.

These regulations and guidelines have been especially crafted to ensure that the subtitling experience for the reader is as pleasurable as possible, ensuring that they don’t distract from the main video content.

The subtitles also need to match the flow of the video content for everything to work in unison – that’s part of the art of subtitling.

Our 6-eye process is our fundamental approach to certifying that we are checking every single box to ensure accuracy and quality. This includes input and amendments from the translators, revisers, project managers and quality control assistants who all provide opinion and direction for improvement.

The quality control doesn’t stop there – we then review it in house to make sure that there are no errors, everything looks right and that we’ll have pride in delivering the finished subtitles back to you.

The way we present the final subtitled video content is flexible to how you wish to receive them. The subtitles can be provided in a range of file formats, or we can send them to our burning-in team to implement the subtitles upon your approval.
