When it comes to any kind of content, accessibility should be at the forefront of its origination. On the whole, subtitling and closed captioning has become the standard across many platforms but there is definitely more that needs to be done for viewers who are blind or partially sighted.
We couldn’t agree more with Channel 4’s movement to ensure that all new ads and sponsorship idents on their channels carry closed captions, but we can’t help but question why Audio Description remains an afterthought.
