Voice Description

A warm, authoritative RP voice, ideal for upmarket advertising, intelligent documentary and corporates that demand friendly, engaging gravitas. A good demographic range from a sophisticated 40s to trustworthy 50s. Excellent ear for accents from North American (Stephen Spielberg cast him as an American in Saving Private Ryan) to North Yorkshire. A native of Derbyshire he can mimic all the subtle Midland accents. His impression of a posh 1950s announcer has been described as 'uncanny'.

James has worked extensively in theatre, TV and film with directors such as Stephen Spielberg, Neil Jordan and Ridley Scott. Commercials work: Now Mobile; BT; Prudential; BT Vision; Air France, Pruhealth and Pizza Hut. As an actor James enjoys doing animation voices; work includes the Little Prince, Abby Careful and Agent Bollizei. He has done extensive Corporate work including: Greenpeace; Imperial War Museum; NHS, Microfinance, Upskill and various medical and housing promotional films. He can liven up even the driest of scripts. James is also a published author and journalist for Spectator, Times, Daily Telegraph and Guardian.
